Green Talent breaking world record

Dr Aung Ko Ko Kyaw and his research group successfully optimised inverted structure small-molecule solar cells.

Dr Aung Ko Ko Kyaw is an expert in the design, architecture and fabrication of excitonic solar cells. Originally from Singapore, he is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Polymers and Organic Solids, University of California at Santa Barbara in the working group of Nobel Prize laureate Alan Jay Heeger. Together with his co-workers Dr. Kyaw achieved a new world record in solution-processed small molecular solar cells by accomplishing an efficiency of 7.88%. The previous highest record was 7%. The results have been published in: Advanced Materials Volume 25, Issue 17, pages 2397–2402, May 7, 2013.
